UI/UX design

Design that survives contact with the build.

Plenty of beautiful designs never get built properly, because the person drawing them never had to make them work on a real phone, with real data, in the states nobody drew.

We design in Figma, and the same team builds it afterwards. That tends to produce fewer beautiful screens and more decisions that hold up once the product is live.

What we design

  • User flows

The path someone takes to get something done, mapped before any screen is drawn.

  • Wireframes

Structure and priority first, so arguments about layout happen before they get expensive.

  • UI design

The finished interface: type, colour, spacing and the details that make it feel considered.

  • Design systems

Reusable components and tokens, so the tenth screen still matches the first.

  • Prototyping

Clickable flows you can try and react to before anyone writes code.

  • Responsive design

Phone, tablet and desktop designed properly, rather than the desktop version squeezed.

  • The states nobody draws

Empty, loading, error and too-much-data, designed instead of improvised during the build.

  • UX review

A look at an existing product and a straight list of what is costing you users.

How design runs

  1. 01

    Understand the users

Who they are, what they came to do and what currently gets in the way.

  2. 02

    Map the flows

The routes through the product, agreed before the visual work starts.

  3. 03

    Design the screens

In Figma, as a system rather than a pile of one-off pages.

  4. 04

    Review and refine

You react to something real, and we change it while changing it is still cheap.

  5. 05

    Hand over to engineering

Which is usually us, so nothing is lost in translation between the design and the build.

Questions

  • Can you design without building?

Yes. We can deliver the designs and hand them to your own developers, with the components and spacing set up so they can be built accurately.

  • Do we get the Figma files?

Yes. The Figma file is part of what you are paying for, and we hand it over with the components organised rather than as a loose pile of frames.

  • Can you redesign an existing product?

Yes. Send us the live product and tell us what is not working. Often the fix is the flow rather than the look, and we will say so rather than sell you a repaint.

  • How many rounds of changes are included?

We agree that with you before starting, based on the size of the project, so neither side is guessing halfway through.
